What is positive?	Very easy to set up speed excellent
What is negative?	Not quite getting 8 MB so far 6 MB max and I am only 500 yards from the exchange. Does any one ever get 8 MB, I wonder.
Summary	All together very pleased with the service . upgraded from 2 MB to 8 MB and needed a Router rather tan a modem they sent me one for £ 25>00 which I was quite happy with.No trouble at all with set up and never needed to phone the help line.

What is negative?	BT is hopeless, as well as being incompetent they are unwilling to help. How can you move a department so important such as broadband technical help out of the country to people who don't know what your talking about half the time. they fob you off with lies and false promises, and their complaint system is even worse than their advisiors. they are patronising and rude. Bt is becoming more and more uncompetitive, they are just expensive for nothing. I could understand if the extra price was for a good customer service, but its the opposite Avoid a lot of hassle and stress.

What is positive?	Reliable, easy to contact, but if want to speak to a human, be prepared for a long long wait!
What is negative?	I changed from Optopn 3 to Option 1 early in Feb 2006 after reviewing my usage and the price I was paying. Despite being assured by BT Broadband Sales that my download speed would remain at the existing 2M, on the day of c/o my speed dropped to 1M. I have tried on numerous occassions and various BT departments ,including being routed to an India call-centre more times than I can remember, only to be told that the speed would remain at 1M and if I didn't like it THEN GO TO ANOTHER ISP.
Summary	I was more than happy with the service provided by BT until I hit a major communictions problem within BT. No one is prepared to take OWNERSHIP of their customers difficulties. I am now seriously looking at ISP providers and would advise anyone else from going to BT.

What is positive?	Very simple clear installation - took me 20 mins or less to be up and running. You can never go back to narowband after having broadband. The BT security set up seems really comphrehensive. It automatically updates which is handy. Also the parental controls are great for families.
What is negative?	You pay that little but extra for BT but then after you have other providers like Bulldog you really know why its worth every penny. Plus other ISPs charge you when they offer faster speeds. BT just makes it faster with no cost.
Summary	Its BT isn't it .. so its reliable and you know they are not going going to go bust. Plus the yahoo portal thing is really pretty good.
