Blu-ray DVDs are an excellent step forward from traditional DVDs, providing increased sound and picture quality, allowing for a more immersive and enjoyable experience.
While there are plenty of ways you can customise your viewing experience to make it more exciting and entertaining, it’s important not to overspend when it comes to your new Blu-ray DVD player.
Consider whether the model you’re buying comes with its own HDMI lead, as this is necessary for attaching the device to your television (and costs around £20 on its own). If you already have speakers, you should purchase a model which is compatible with them – the two options in this respect are coaxial or optical. Purchasing the wrong model will obviously waste time and possibly money.
Find out whether your blu-ray DVD player comes with memory already built in, as this is important for features such as BD-Live. Finally, consider whether the remote control and disc loading times are suitable. While all of these features are important, you may have to choose certain priorities if you want to save money.
