The sound type. Mono - The sound is played through just one channel. Stereo - The sound can be played through two channels.

Number of video heads. The more video heads the better the quality of picture when viewing still pictures and slow motion. Longplay recordings are also of a higher quality than those made with less video heads. VCRs with stereo come equipped with two extra heads specifically for sound.

Video+ - A user-friendly system that uses the number codes next to programme listings in TV guides. Simply type in the code and the video takes care of timer recordings.

Long Play (LP) - This enables twice as long recording time. A 3-hour cassette can record for up to 6 hours.
