The RZA36P is a freestanding, under the counter freezer from Hotpoint. It’s fairly basic but freezes well and is cheap to run. UK buyers looking for a cheap but effective freezer should have this on their shortlist.
The external dimensions of this machine are 85 cm (H) x 59.8 cm (W) x 62 cm (D) and internally you get a capacity of 90 litres across four drawers. It’s averagely sized and perfectly suited to a small family or a couple. The four main compartments are fairly roomy, with the bottom drawer in particular creating enough space for large joints of meat and other outsized items. The door is reversible without the need for tools if you wish to switch it around to suit your other kitchen appliances.
There are a couple of handy features such as a temperature warning light if the freezer is getting excessively warm and Super Freeze to halt the temperature rise while you’re loading it with your weekly shop – but otherwise this is a fairly basic model.
The RZA36P fulfils its primary function of freezing well, and also maintains a good temperature throughout. Should you suffer the misfortune of a power outage your freezer will see you right for about 18 hours. The decibel level of 45 is around average (a conversation is somewhere between 60 and 70 decibels) and shouldn’t bother anyone apart from the most irritable. Finally, the energy efficiency rating of A + means you do your bit for the planet, while keeping your electricity bills low. It’s estimated that this freezer will set you back approximately £22 a year to run.
