It never washes properly, having refered to the manufacturers booklet it gives instructions on what to do if it doesn't wash properly but it still doesn't work. Repaired numerous times and regularly has error messages, was cheap to buy but not worth a penny. Even after a wash there is still dirty food around the machine. Don't buy one!!!

Summary

My kitchen fitter has stopped quoting for Baumatic dishwashers. If you have a choice of hiring a £50K pa butler to do your dishes or buying a £200 Baumatic, hire the butler

What are the strengths?

When it actually does work without leaking, it does give a good clean. The service department are pretty on the ball (must have a lot of practice). However, the engineer's van broke down prior to one cancelled visit - I asked him if his van was made by Baumatic.

What are the weaknesses?

We had three BDW13s in the space of 15 months. The first leaked from the bottom of the door almost from the word go. The engineer came twice to fix it but it still leaked. Our kitchen fitter eventually arranged for a replacement BDW13 which was damaged on arrival. The third BDW13 lasted 9 months before it leaked over the Christmas holiday i.e. couldn't get it fixed for a month. Eventually it was 'fixed' but leaked steam onto the surrounding kitchen appliances and damaged the doors (£250 to replace). I eventually got a refund from Baumatic, and put it towards a Bosch. I had great plaseure in taking the BDW13 to the local dump (it leaked the last bit of water it had into my car on the way there).

What are the weaknesses?

The upper drawer of the washer is only held on to the slide rails with a couple of plastic clips. These clips often allow the drawer to slide off the rails when opening to unload and cause the family heirlooms to smash into the lower drawer! very very frustrating!
We've had the engineers out a few times and have been sent replacement plastic clips which are as effective as the ones you have just replaced!!
The wash quality is adequate.
