Summary

Our neighbours' new Hotpoint went up in smoke when they forgot to remove the transit bolts, which are there to lock the drum for shipping. That would happen with any machine.

Also, any machine will vibrate excessively if it's not been leveled properly both horizontally and vertically.

This machine is very smooth, very quiet, and a half full red wine glass will sit on it motionlessly at full spin.

It does take about 30 minutes longer than our old machine, but then it holds almost double the load, so a typical day's washing takes less time over all. A typical load at 40° with normal spin is done in under two hours.

LG was recommended by a trusted washing machine service engineer (and ISE dealer), who owns one himself and said they were very reliable, built like a tank, and guaranteed for two years to boot.
