The Dyson DC25 Animal is a top-of-the-range and state-of-the-art vacuum cleaner which is ideally suited to owners of hair-shedding pets but also has a few other uses. Those who are just looking for a general purpose upright vacuum cleaner (all upright vacuum cleaners) would be advised to take a look at others in the range such as the DC07, which is less pricey but serves the purpose.
The DC25 uses the famous patented Ball technology for fantastic manoeuvrability and is so lightweight – 7.4 kg – that even a child can use it. It is perfectly suited to the needs of owners of hairy pets or who have problems with pushing a regular cleaner around. It is also recommended by the British Allergy Foundation for asthma sufferers.
The DC25 uses advanced Root Cyclone technology to maximise suction, with practically no loss, and has been designed and engineered with the removal of pet hair from carpets and rugs in mind. It comes complete with a range of tools, including a motorised brush for thoroughly cleaning carpets and a miniature turbine head for tackling small spaces and corners.
Pushing a vacuum cleaner backwards and forwards to get to the edges and corners of rooms is a thing of the past, with Dyson’s Ball technology replacing the cumbersome old wheels on conventional models. The latter are great from the exercise point of view, but a source of unending frustration for the busy housewife.
The high impact strength of the ball, made from polypropylene reinforced with glass, and the fact that it contains the motor have both optimised the manoeuvrability aspects of the cleaner, effectively lowering its centre of gravity.
The motorised brush very effectively tackles pet hair that has lodged itself deep within carpets and rugs, with the bristles spinning at high speed to dislodge dirt and other deposits, and they can be turned off when you’re cleaning polished floorboards and the like, so there’s no danger of abrasion.
For upholstery and tricky corners underneath furniture there’s the mini turbine head, which connects to a wand to suck dirt and hairs up. You can even clean the ceiling with this machine, as the Telescope Reach wand extends up to 15 feet in seconds with no other troublesome attachments to put in place, and it’s also great for cleaning the stairs.
A problem with most conventional cleaners is that you only know when the bin needs emptying when suction gets low, but with the Dyson DC25 there’s a transparent bin that you can check all the time, and you don’t have to virtually dismantle the machine to empty it – just press a button and it’s ejected.
The Dyson DC25 incorporates a HEPA – High-Efficiency Particle Air – filter to capture minute particles. It’s the same filter used in hospitals, and can trap a single particle of cigarette smoke. Dust mites don’t stand a chance, and the pollen and mould spores that afflict asthma sufferers are effectively eradicated.
With no bags to dispose of (all bagless vacuum cleaners), no extra costs and a 5-year parts and labour guarantee, you just can’t beat the Dyson DC25 Animal for cleaning up your house.
