Summary

Once Dell get the user communities widely reported quality control issues resolved particularly with regard to the backlight problems, I feel that this will be the market leading display panel. As Dell are now at Rev A02 this may have been fixed already.
At a UK asking price of around £1,000, buyers have every right to expect a top class panel with no issues at all. At present, based on my experience, they may not get what they expect, but I have no doubt Dell will be working on a fix.
Buyers should be aware of this issue and look carefully at their panels just in case.
Oh, and make sure you have enough desk space too - this thing is massive!!

What are the strengths?
This is truly a stunning piece of hardware with more connectivity options than most users will need. I am not sure how widely "DisplayPort" will be used but Dell are at least ready for it.
The image quality is excellent and colours vibrant to say the least so they do need some manual adjustments.
No pixel bleed is apparent on fine lines so the resolution is excellent. I was only able to use mine of 1920x1200, not (yet) having hardware capable of supporting the massive full resolution of 2560*1600.
What are the weaknesses?
The main weaknesses I can see are in the colours which need some adjustment as they are poorly set up out of the box. Use of some form of calibration is recommended. This will be particularly important for photographers or editors. Once calibrated then all should be fine.
Crucially, the biggest issue is around quality and build. Before purchasing this monitor I was aware that there had been issues widely reported around the user communities with the backlight "bleeding" around the edge of the panel - albeit on Rev A00.
I hoped that as mine would be a Rev A01, this would no longer be an issue. Unfortunately when the monitor arrived mine also had a backlight "bleed" problem in the top left half and bottom right corner of the display and the bezel was not clipped together properly. This calls the design and build quality control into question.
Although Dell replaced the monitor on their next day warranty, the replacement was a second hand panel with the same issue (but in a dif
