A Great Cam
Summary
Panasonic has always tried to do something different, and deliver the best. With this digicam, they do well! This 6 megapixel camera is definitely one of Panasonics better models. It has a powerful 12 x optical zoom. And it has a very strong battery life. It has loads of features and controls. However, this may become complicated for a first time user. Apart from this little glitch, this cam works brilliantly. The images are of extremely high quality. Plus, this cam has a nice strong design. I am nothing but happy with this cam.

- What are the strengths?
- It is a 6 megapixel camera with a 12 x optical zoom. Its battery life is also pretty good. It has a decent enough flash. It also has some a very good manual focus. It has many controls to make taking pictures a lot more fun.
- What are the weaknesses?
- The only weakness this digicam has is that because of so many features / controls, it may become a little too complicated for a beginner to handle and use.

panasonic to the rescue
Summary
Easy Menus, Great Zoom, High Quality Images, Robust Construction, Able to take extra lenses and filters, all this makes this camera really efficient and i would give it high marks on performance. The camera caters for all levels of photographic experience from the novice, who just has to switch on, point and take, to the expert who likes to fiddle with aperture, exposure, lighting conditions and so on. This camera is a winner for me.

- its Anti-shake works very well. its very light weight compared to a full SLR camera. I like the framing guide in the viewfinder as it keeps the horizon level. it has a huge 12 x Zoom range in a compact package, along with great optics and masses of creative control. also has great manual focus, fast shuttter response. it has a really good flash. a very compact camera.
- What are the weaknesses?
- The filter adapter and the lens hood are tricky to fit, and take up too much space in the camera bag. The only down side to this camera is that there are so many options when compared to standard digital cameras. This I think will take the average person with little photographic knowledge a couple of weeks to get a hang of it.

Panasonic's latest digicam
Summary
Worth a buy for still images and amateur photography. But definitely needs a second thought for the price at which it is offered. It has a very weird shape which is the only other problem with this camera which otherwise sticks to the Panasonic reputation.

- What are the strengths?
- 12x optical and 6 mp camera with a host of resolutions to choose from are easily its best features. Lithium ion battery helps it last longer due to better capacity. Shutter speed is manually adjustable and auto too is pretty fast (1/2000)
- What are the weaknesses?
- Firstly, its got bumps all over the body because of all the dials placed over the body, really makes difficult for usage. QuickTime mode for video recording is also a hassle.

Very Solid
Summary
I feel this is one camera that provides solid performance, with all the features needed to make a perfect ultra zoom camera. It is going to be one stiff competitior.

I have always been a Panasonic fan and have used a couple of their earlier models.

- What are the strengths?
- I have always been a Panasonic fan and after having used its ealier models, find that Panasonic though late in the digi cam market, is now set to take over. Particularly its 12x optically stabilized zoom lens and 8.0 mega pixel sensor are its best features.
- What are the weaknesses?
- Some of the features like the dial etc are oddly placed, and there tends to be some image noise, but I would no tlike to hold these anolmalies against it.
