Panasonic BD-35

Which similar products have you used?

Previously used Sony upscaling DVD player, which was excellent!

Summary

A really great piece of kit, and for the money you simply can't go wrong!

How long have you used the product?

Less than 1 month

What are the strengths?
I previously used a Sony upscaling DVD player which was excellent, especially the improved sound quality of DVD's, and so was looking forward to even more improvements with this blu-ray player. I wasn't disappointed.

The player is easy to use and set-up and the firmware update I did took literally minutes. The blu-ray discs seem to load alot quicker than I expected, having heard stories of them taking a long time with other players.

I guess all players are ultimately judged on their picture and sound quality and this player really delivers. What you watch is a flawless image with excellent sound quality. The clarity is stunning!

For the money I think this is an excellent machine and I have no hesitation in recommending it!!!
What are the weaknesses?
As with most electronic equipment these days the instruction booklet could go a lot further in providing information about the functions and settings available with the player. If you are using the player with a HDMI cable and no other add-ons then you still need to tweak the factory-settings in the menu depending on the type of TV you have, ie 24p, etc.

Other than this there are no weaknesses to this machine.
