Summary

This camcorder is worth carrying along everywhere. It gives great still pictures and has good video quality too. The sound recording is amazing. The LCD is slightly small but apart from that this is a good camcorder overall.

How long have you used the product?

1-3 months

What are the strengths?: Great dolby surround sound recording, takes simply amazing still pictures and video quality is great too. LCD is 2. inches.

What are the weaknesses?: Low light pictues dont come very well, no video light and although the LCD has touch screen it is so small that operating it is very difficult because of the congestion of functions

Have never used a camcorder before!

Summary

It is not one of the most popular cams, but i liked it when i saw it. It isnt too heavy, so its easy to carry around. I am most appreciative of its video quality. I have even taken photos with this cam, and they have turned out quite good. I only wish it had a video light. And well, the LCD display could have been a little bigger. But other than that, this cam is good.

What are the strengths?: It has a very good video quality. Even its still photos are good. It has a good voice recorder. It is pretty easy to handle. Its not too big and not too small either.

What are the weaknesses?: It doesnt have any video light.

The Sony Handycam DCR-DVD405 is a solid DVD camcorder, as long as you don't mind fiddling with a touch-screen interface on a too-small display. i really like it and i take it with me whereever possible.

How long have you used the product?

What are the strengths?: it has better-than-average video quality. along with Dolby Digital 5.1 surround-sound recording. it takes decent still photos.

What are the weaknesses?: there is no video light. some occasional compression artifacts are still noticeable. there is slightly grainy low-light video. the LCD too small for touch-screen operation.

This camcorder is good

Summary

I have used this camcorder for a couple of months now, and i'm being honest when i say that i like it alot. Its a good, solid handycam. Considering, it is a touch screen cam, the size of the LXD may tend to be some sort of a pain. Despite this one flaw, one cant deny that this is a very good handycam!

What are the strengths?: It has a very good video quality. It also have very good sound recording. It also takes pretty good still photos.Better-than-average video quality; Dolby Digital 5.1 surround-sound recording; decent still photos.

What are the weaknesses?: The one thing that i notice the most, is that it doesnt have any video light. Plus the LCD is too small.
