| Sony KDL40W2000 | |||
| This TV has excellent input options, I've plugged in my PS3, PC, Cable TV connection and DVD player and all function flawlessly.
The picture is absolutely amazing, Spiderman3 on blu ray is a totally new and incredible experience and PS3 games are staggering in their clarity. SD TV is not as bad as I was expecting and as long as you are 6 feet + away from the screen it looks good. The colours, black levels and screen brightness are all really impressive (I also looked at the Samsung and Phillips screens and think this is better) and the screen seems to handle motion really well (I haven't seen any smearing yet). Also the design of this TV is good, non reflective and quite subtle - my wife was dead set against a shiny piano black TV - which is why we didn't get the KDL40W3000 - no 40 inch LCD TV is going to look small - but this is as subtle as they come. |

| The remote is a bit tacky and cheap feeling for such a high spec TV.
The menu system is less than clear - although basic setup is easy, finding settings such as 1:1 mapping for the pc input is not so clear. |
|||
| A great 1080p TV, which with high definition (especially 1080p) inputs looks fantastic and does a good job of lower definition inputs as well, It looks great and has a lot of small design features that all enhance the enjoyment of it (like a strap to attach it to your stand and stop it toppling forward and a headphone jack on the side for late night solo TV watching).
I highly recommend this TV |

| Instantly pleased with this telly | |||
| Great black level. Easy to operate. Great sound. Cracking picture. | |||
| Analogue picture is rubbish, but that won't matter much really.
The remote is not very impressive. |
|||
| I have just changed my tv to this one from the Philips and was instantly impressed, it oozes understated quality.
I don't know who designs the remotes for tv's but the one for this telly is particularly crappy looking. Ignore the reports of a fixed stand because it does swivel. I have just spent a fortnight with a philips tv that was more expensive than this and it was riddled with little problems. I changed it for this and was much more comfortable with it straght away. You will be satisfied. |

| Average standard definition pictures
Average sound Bit pricey. Do you really need 1080p? |
|||
| Well after reading all the hype/reviews etc for the last two months I finally made my decision and went with nearly the best LCD TV out there and to be honest I am a little dissapointed.
Unfortunately I got sucked into the "1080p is the best", all well and good but, as someone has already mentioned if your not thinking of getting Sky HD, an Xbox 360 or Bluray etc then unless you want a bigger screen stick with your old CRT, my last Sony had a better picture than this and the sound blew this TV away. That said I have only run this TV with 720p on my Xbox 360 and have to say the picture is amazing, didnt think a picture could get any clearer then think again. HD is awesome! Im unsure whether you do really need a TV with 1080p as 720p is simply stunning, that said I havent fed the TV with any 1080p sources yet. Could have saved some money with just a 720p set and bought other items though. (perhaps Sky HD?). You may think Im putting a downer on this set, Im not its very good, its just quite expensive and I havent given it the 1080p sources it deserves. An overall summary of this TV would be, unless your planning on getting all the other 1080p toys to go with this TV (PS3, HD DVD etc) then I think the other 720p sets especially the Sony V series offer better value for money as 720p is good enough, especially with Sky HD only broadcasting in 720p. |

| Great Telly! | |||
| Colour is Excellent.
Set styling is understated. Bright picture. |
|||
| A bit on the expensive side. | |||
| Beautiful bright picture. Although the TV is fairly expensive the picture, functionality and quality of the set is superb.
We don't have HD yet, but looking foreward to seeing the HD picture when we do. This set is one Sonys latest generation and the resolution for HD is higher than in their previous sets, but not having an HD box yet, I haven't been able to judge the difference. Great picture with the standard signal, although the screen being 40 inches, the picture does get a little bit grainy sometimes. |

| Easy to set up. Rich colours. Good Sound. | |||
| To get a reasonable quality picture you will need SKY HD box and pay £10 extra subscription for HD channels. Also to get a reasonable picture for DVD you will need Xbox (£299) or similar, otherwise you will get a picture worse than your CRT. Remember the demos set in showrooms either use SKY HD or HD DVDs - showing exellent pictures. Picture from standard Sky box is POOR. Look at the screen from about three feet - iamges must be small (example a football game). Large objects will appear OK. | |||
| Buy this TV if you can also afford SKY HD and XBox otherwise stick to your old CRT. My 17year old CRT (Sony) gave better picture using analogue than the Freeview picture on this product. | |||

| Could do with a third HDMI socket | |||
| My first dip in the waters of large screen TV. What a belting television. When watching a HD source such as ITV or BBC HD or an upscaled DVD player it is truley superb. Beatiful build quality and actually cheaper than the Samsung F series - the nearest equivalent. | |||

| A Good Buy! | |||
| A good clear picture with excellent colour, it is particularly good for films and drama. It is easy to set up, looks robust and is not too flashy. Easy navigation around the stations and good connectivity. Sound is fine and the instructions in the booklet are clear. | |||
| As it is my first LCD I can't compare but I'm using 'Freeview' and the picture quality for sports like football is not as sharp as I would want. I think it is just down to poor signal and I am switching to cable. | |||
| A really good TV with a lot of good features and good picture quality. It is good value as well when bought off the net. | |||
