| What are the strengths? |
The Toppy has everything and is clearly going to be upgraded by the other enthusiasts who own one and who will share the TAPS ( Small programmes that the user can write to add functionality to the PVR)
It can record 2 programmes, and still allow you to watch another.
The huge hard drive together with the ability to archive your downloads in folders will clear my shelves for a while.
The Toppy records the original broadcast signal too so the picture is brilliant and contains all the Digital info that is broadcast too. I've had it a week and it has already changed the way I view TV. (and avoid the adverts too!) |
| What are the weaknesses? |
A little nerdy due to it's advanced features but it has an excellent support site www.Topppy.org.uk ( It can seem a little daunting at first.). The site has so much good advice as well as 'understandable' guides to replace the original translation and an archive of TAP's too. |
| Summary |
The 'best' PVR. Excellent picture and sound as well as all the recording features you could wish and the possibiity to add more. Ideal for anyone involved in the AV dept of a school or college or who has to record a lot of material for educational resouces.. |
