| Amazing Features | |||
| I have used the 4700 in "anger" from wireless web browsing to bluetooth GPS. All works without any problems. The built in wireless manager software is very simple and a delight to use. The new touch pad is funky and you can even have a mouse cursor now (you use the touch pad just like a laptop touch pad and wizz the cursor around the screen - v useful)
Switching between Portrait (480x640 pixels) and lanscape mode (640x480) is by a touch of a button, although not all software supports landscape mode This is the fastest PPC on the market (its about 5% faster than the dell axim) according to Toms Hardware Site (www.tomshardware.com). You can now browse real websites (well almost) but Id recommend getting a 3rd party java supported browser for the PPC. |

| I have no problems in recommending one of these, the only downsides are the expense and weight (190 grams) - not only is the 4700 expensive but also all the HP accessories are too. a replacement battery cost nearly 100 pounds! and that is for the standard one.(ouch) | |||
| Having now owned an 4700 for 3 months I am very happy with the performance of the unit. The speed is amazing and the quality of the screen, in both resolution and clairity, is excellent. The case is metal and a very nice dark grey (gun metal) colour. It is built to the useal HP high standards.
A wise investment in the pocket pc market. If money is of no object then get one! I did. |

| IPAQ 4700 | |||
| The VGA screen is a gem! You can almost set the IPAQ up for the first time without the need for scrutinising the set up guide.
Once you get used to operating the IPAQ (This is my first PocketPC) then you wonder how you managed without one before! |

| Microsoft ActiveSync would not install on my Laptop directly from the HP installation CD. To resolve the issue I had to download (32mb) the latest version from Microsoft directly.Installation and subsequent synchronisation was then OK.
The full manual is in pdf format, again on the HP installation CD (169 pages). Whilst I've printed it, HP ought to consider issuing the manual with the PPC, for a small additional cost. A spare stylus would be of use as well. |

| A great PPC. It does everything I want it to do. The onboard screen protector is a boon although I recommend anyone to buy a proper case.
I have no hesitation in recommending the 4700 to anyone especially as there are some great Internet prices out there. |
