Title of review Design flaws
What are the strengths? On a good side it is easy to use. As a PDA it is very good.
What are the weaknesses? I have read dozens of reviews that highlight the problem with the stylus. It has some small pips that are designed to help grip the stylus to pull it out of the holder. On my unit these broke off within the first week. On all the reviews I have read they have lasted no longer than two weeks.

More importantly, within two months of purchasing the unit (during which time I used the Sat Nav in the car less than a dozen times), the connector broke. This meant that I could neither synchronise with my PC nor charge the device.

I called the Acer support line no fewer than 34 times before I got an answer and even then I was on hold for 40 minutes.

The unit has just been returned to the Acer repair centre in Plymouth so I will await their verdict.

My concerns are that I have found two reviews (one here on pricerunner) where the same fault with the connector has occurred and that in both cases Acer charged for the repair even though the units were under warranty.

Fortunately I have some legal training and I know that Acer are in breach of contract on two fronts, namely "not fit for the purpose" and "not of merchantable quality". If either of these two are satisfied then the contract will be deemed "null and void." There are two courses of action that can then be taken my the consumer and that is to demand a full refund of the product and to sue the supplier if that refund is not forthcoming. It is likely that the retailer is also liable.
Summary I will reserve making an overall summary until I know the outcome of Acer's investigation.

Title of review Acer N35 PDA & GPS
What are the strengths? I have found this to be a great gadget. Windows PDA with Word, Excel etc, loads of games easily available for it and with built in GPS aerial. It comes with Destinator 3 software which is quite good but I use it with Tom Tom 5 and download the speed camera database every month too. A Star Trek siren wails when speed cameras are 500 yards away. The car screen mounting kit looks basic but it works fine and it comes with mains/desk computer connection leads and cigar lighter socket for use in car. I advise buying an extra 512mb SD card from ebay so you have a back up for navigation software and room for data/games etc.
What are the weaknesses? The batteries last about an hour and a quarter. They are not replaceable so one day they will fail but I use my N35 in the caravan or car most of the time so not a huge problem. Not the fastest or most flexible PDA around (no bluetooth) but you could add a wifi card for about £35 if internet or e-mail on the move is needed.
Summary Why buy a GPS Nav system for your car when you can own this handy dandy PDA and get the same (or better) functionality for less money. I really like it but sympathise with the first reviewer if his unit is faulty. That would of put me off too but so far mine has worked just fine and my wife and I use it a lot.

Title of review Acer N35
What are the strengths? The product does not have any strengths. I used the product twice and then found that I was unable to recharge it as the connectors at the base of the unit had pushed in.

After calling at Comet and sending an enquiry to Comet.co.uk I was told to call Acer direct. Yes I thought this was strange since I had only had the unit less than a week.

Sent the unit to Acer by courier only to receive a bill for almost £200 to repair the product!

Still not resolved after several letters and emails to Acer.
What are the weaknesses? Everything about the warrenty and service from Acer.
Summary I will never buy a product made by Acer again.
