Tefal Quick Cup |
| What are the strengths? |
Speed and energy efficiency. No more boiling the kettle and forgetting about it! The amount of hot water can be programmed to any amount; very handy for those with large mugs! Safety is also a by-product as there is no hot kettle to worry about, and no hot water to spill from the kettle. Very easy to fill (when you've boiled an empty kettle there's a scalding risk, with this "kettle", there's only a cold water reservoir). |
| What are the weaknesses? |
The claim of boiling water in three seconds is true, but it takes time for the water to fill a mug/cup. It pours at the rate of a slow tap. The noise is surprisingly loud, similar in level to a coffee percolator, but does only last whilst filling the mug/cup. When first in use, it took a little time to get used to not waiting for the kettle and not physically pouring the water, but that doesn't last long. As the kettle pours its hot water into a mug/cup, it tends to splash over the sides slightly. |
| Summary |
Excellent reinvention of the kettle. Make it quieter and cure the splash effect (although minor) and it would be brilliant. An improvement on a standard kettle, simply on efficiency. |
