Good looking, no durability. |
| What are the strengths? |
Good Looks - absolutely stunning.
Easy to select 'brownness', frozen bread, cancel etc. |
| What are the weaknesses? |
After just over 1 year (i.e. just out of guarantee), it stopped working, the LEDs all glow dimly and the 'carriage' will not lock down. It hadn't been used hard - there are only the 2 of us and toast is certainly not a daily thing - and hadn't been abused or splashed. Having read around several forums I have learned that this is not an isolated incident, many of this model of toaster break down/just stop working just into the 13th month of ownership. This is not acceptable for a product costing £40 or more in my opinion.
If, like me, you cannot find the paperwork you got with the toaster then Russell Hobbs customer service department in the UK is very difficult to track down, for the record the parent company is Salton Europe whose head office is in Failsworth, Manchester. |
| Summary |
If you want a good looking toaster to decorate your kitchen then go for it, but do not expect to be able to make toast with it for very long. As such it is a white elephant and we now have a toaster from a different manufacturer that cost half the price and if it packs up in 12 months I won't feel so bad about it ending up in the bin. |
