| Summary |
I cannot say enough good things about these little speakers. Previously I had a Bose Accoustimass 6 speaker set. Nice and discreet, but a little lacking in the midrange, and it didn't take advantage of the LFE (Low Frequency Effects) soundtrack on DVD's.
Bring on the KEFs. The sub is nice and weighty without being overwhelming. The satellites are crisp and clear, but never ever sound tinny. Sounds are so realistic coming through these speakers it's breathtaking.
They are a fair amount bigger than the Bose units, but the quality more than makes up for it. And what it costs you in speaker cable you'll save on wall brackets (they come with adjustable feet - just bring a few screws and rawlplugs).
I put these on by shortlist because I bought a plasma screen and needed a centre-speaker that wouldn't stick out from the wall significantly. Also I thought they looked rather nice, as opposed to anonymous black/wooden boxes. It took only one listen to prove to myself I needed to buy them. But beware - everybody's different; every hifi is different. Try to get a listen to a set of these yourself, and if possible use them with the equipment they'll end up partnered with. They sound fantastic to my ears, with my equipment, but you may prefer something else.
