| Small, light, comfy.
Veru usefull accessories (choice between long and short cables, great caspule to protect what needs to be i.e. the earphone, not the cables) Once they break in, very nice sound. A bit too much on the bass side, but the sound is precise and very rich |

| I have owned those for almot 2 years. I have read a lot on the quality issue. As for me i never had problem despite often pulling the cord etc. I guess the quality control on these bugs is not great. Anyway, I love those. I love to have the choice between a short and a long cable. I love the small capsule to protect the earphone only. I love the rich sound and GREAT bass (in this domain and in comparison the UE superfi 5 pro are really poor ... and they cost 5 times what the sony's cost).
Overall, a great set of earphone which are very usable in every day's life thanks to the well thought accesorries. Very comfy too. you will not find a better proce / quality deal. |

| As far as sound quality goes i was very impressed. Most in-ear style headphones fail to deliver below 80Hz, but these headphones are capable of clear, audible notes well below that, up to around 35-40. The top end is also good, as it hasn't distorted due to the stronger mid-range frequencies. This may of course just be on the songs that I listen to.
The carry-bag that came with them is useful for storing the different sized ear buds in, as I listen to music with all of my friends, all of whom prefer different sizes. The isolation offered by the headphones is also astounding. On several occasions I have not heard people talking to me because I was in my own little world. |

| I'm not a fan of the 'round the back' design for headphone wires. However, it has made it much easier to slyly listen to music in classes.
The little hard carry-case (not bag) that came with it is utterly pointless, as it takes a long time to put them away, and it offers as much protection as leaving them in the carry-bag would. The extra cable that came with it is far too long for me, I have about 60cm of cable left in my pocket when listening to music. Finally although not an actual problem [yet] the cables are very thin, and I'm expecting to have to fix their rubber coating soon, although in their defence have had no such problems yet. |

| A very nice set of ear-phones. Sony have done a great job, as usual. | |||

| Sony MDR-EX71SL | |||
| The earphone design sits in the entry of your ear canal, with a rubber earpiece to block out external noise, giving much better isolation than most earpieces. | |||
| Compared to the MDR-EX70LP, the sound quality is appalling. A friend bought these EX71SL phones because the EX70 that I recommended was no longer available. Compared to the EX70, the bass is weaker (although they still claim that it goes down to 6Hz), and the treble is tinny and it 'burns' my ears. I really can't recommend this product at all, especially as it is being sold at the same price as the original EX70. | |||
| A very disappointing move by Sony. Perhaps the intention was to make something that looked the same but cost much less to manufacture, but the sound quality has really suffered for that. | |||
