Summary

If you're thinking of popping into SuperFi Nottingham I can save you the journey !! - DON'T BOTHER !! The manager is a complete waste of space and is more interested in talking to a sales rep than dealing with customers who actually want to purchase goods from this second rate retailer. I made the unfortunate error of going into SuperFi Nottingham last Thursday (17th July) to not only purchase a top of the range Onkyo TX-NR905 AV Amp but also to demo the new Pioneer PDP-LX6090 60" plasma at £4,500 with a view to putting down a deposit and ordering one. The gentleman I dealt with (although resonably curteous) had no real knowledge of the product and when I dared to ask for price match on the Onkyo he had to go and speak to the 'manager' as he had no authority to deal with customers. It was clear that the so called glorified salesman who had a managers badge on was more intent on speaking to a sales rep who had just bought in the latest cheap small screen LCD offerings from Samsung than having the people skills to: 1) Make eye contact with the customer and actually speak to someone who had taken the trouble to come into their store and want to make a purchase. 2) Speak directly to a customer who wanted to give SuperFi the chance of a sizeable sale (over £5,500) if they would consider 'pricematch' Even though I brought out a roll of £20 notes from my pocket to show that I wasn't just a 'demo junkie' the psudo manager couldn't drag himself away from the sales rep who was probably offering him all sorts of insentives to stock the LCD marvels of 2008!! Needless to say I made a swift exit and went to Richer Sounds who not only dealt with me in a professional and curteous manner, but also were more than happy to unbox the goods in front of me to make sure they were undamaged etc, payed my parking fees and carried the goods out to my car and loaded them into the boot for me !! Needless to say I will be shopping with Richer Sounds again and will scrub NotSoSuperFi off my list of potential retailers. I can not fathom that in this current climate a so called 'professional' retailer can be so obnoxious as to not give a customer the time of day when they have come into a store to spend over £5,000. I can only hope that the 'credit crunch; really bites and this particular store (and even the entire chain) goes into recievership so other members of the public do not have to suffer their arrogant attitude.
