Dell Business - Information
Reviews older than 6 months are automatically removed to reflect the retailer's current standards.
I found a really good Sony Cyber-shot camera on Dells website, and though i had never ordered from Dell before, I thought I should go for it considering the excellent price.
Wrong
It has been 2 months since I placed the order and I still have not recieved the item, though they still have the cheek to charge me!
Initially they said the item was out of stock (though on the product page it said 'ships within 2 days') and then they messed up the delivery address blah blah blah....am still waiting!
No
Be warned, do not buy from Dell, they are a consumer horror story.
At the time you make the order, Dell do not give you an estimate when your order will be delivered, only after you have completed the order process. In my case they gave me an estimated delivery date over a month after the date of the order.
Worst is that they will debit your credit/debit card immediately and expect to hold on to your money while they take their time building/despatching your computer.
They are a large corporation and really do not care at all about retail sales to individuals or small businesses, they want bulk orders from large companies.
Dells 'customer service' centre is offshore (no surprises) and their script reads something like 'no you cannot cancel your order whilst it is in the production phase' and 'yes, you can get a refund, after the item is delivered return it to us and await your refund less shipping costs'.
Always remember you can go into a shop such as PC World and leave
