This company is a nightmare. I ordered a digital SLR camera online from Fizi in August this year. I did not receive an order confirmtion until I rang the company to enquire whether they had received my order. Fizi use DHL as carriers as all the goods are shipped from Hong Kong. The camera was "lost" twice, allegedly by DHL. I was told by Fizi that as I had not paid for the shipping insurance (optional) there was little they could do (incorrect & misleading). Fizi stated they were conducting an enquiry with DHL to establish what had happened and that I would be informed immediately as to the result of that enquiry. I heard nothing & had to threaten legal action in order to receive the camera. Fizi offered to pay the shipping costs as compensation - they haven't. Six weeks later, the camera arrived. I have reported this company to Trading Standards. Don't start me on DHL - apalling as well!!

Fizi.com look as if they are cheaper than other retailers. They are not.

When your goods arrive you will find out that they have been shipped to you from Hong Kong, and you will get a bill for VAT and import duty that is at least equal to the price saving over buying from Amazon.

At no point in the sales process do they draw your attention to the HK shipping, or to the VAT and duty that you will be required to pay on delivery. They do mention this in the fine print of their website (that they know no-one reads) and therefore what they are doing isn't actually fraudulent, although it is very poor business practice.

ordering - piece of cake!
price- unreal!
delivery- rapid!

I'm so happy with my new Digi Cam & will be recommending Fizi to others.

Fizi ship from Hong Kong & not the UK - so you can expect to receive import duties after delivery :-(

However, i still made a massive saving of around £90 quid in comparison to the next cheapest retailer online.

I bought Canon 500D from this retailer.

The price was quite reasonable, BUT I paid +£10 for delivery and +£10 for 'shipment insurance'

Which made the camera £20 more expensive.... But that wasn’t the end of the story.

Next, week later I received VAT invoice for £70 more. I.e. in total I have already paid £90 more than the website price.

Don't use this retailer until you are ready to pay +20% of the price.
