SMC Direct - Information

I needed several items to upgrade my Dell Dimension 9200. When i called for assitance i spoke to a sales rep called Scott. Fortyunatley they offer a range of dell spares as well so he was instantly familiar with my system, a far cry from the Dell call centre!!

I needed ram and a hard drive and i was advised on an 80gig HDD (seagate) and Scott said that i needed to re install windows as these hard drives are new and have no data on at all and explained that my Dell install disc wil be needed, along the way Scott asked me to log back on to smcdirect.com and he guided me to the Kingston memory finder. He showed me what options i had to choose from and said he was showing me this so that if i needed ram again it would be easy find what i need in the furture.
I wish all retailers offline and online were as helpful.



I recieved my order in 3 days and muy Dimension is up and runing again(after the xp install of course)

Buyer be awear, they offer different items, with lower spec than the ones advertised for the same money. Check your spec before giving them an order

I signed up to a cheap deal found here and everything went fine, I received a confirmation and started waiting. I waited a long time and emails them to hurry them up a bit, when they told me the HDD I ordered was discontinued and I would have to order again a different one.
I called to ask stock avaiablity and they said they had plenty. When I identified myself and my order code they said they were sorry, error in the system and the price I bought for originally was no longer valid.
I strongly recommend you go elsewhere, the cheap deal will probably be cancelled by them anyway while you lose lots of time.
